Mercedes-Benz India has already introduced five BSVI-compliant models well ahead of the April 2020 deadline. Reportedly, it is considering a range of hybrid and electric models for the local market. It is even contemplating local assembly of the former. The Stuttgart-based company hopes its EVs will contribute to up to 25% of its global sales by 2025. The Mercedes EQC showcases a futuristic version of the manufacturer’s latest design philosophy. The front-end is characterised with a large nose cone that is flanked by a set of angular LED headlamps. At the rear, the stylish LED tail lamps are bridged by a sleek LED strip. Another highlight of the styling is the set of aerodynamically optimised, lightweight alloy wheels. The talking point of the interior is a futuristic-looking dashboard that holds the E-Class-inspired instrument cluster and infotainment system. Powering the EQC are two electric motors positioned on each axle. The combined power/torque output of the setup has been rated at 402.14 hp/765 Nm. As per the manufacturer, the EQC can sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in less than 5 seconds, while its 80 kWh battery offers a driving range of 500 km on a single charge.
